grey flats from mustard & sage

March 17th, 2009 · 12 Comments

When I mentioned last week that I was on a search for grey flats for my wedding day, Meghan of Mustard & Sage stepped up to help a shoe-clueless girl out. I love these so much that it’s hard to pick just one! I wish #2 was more in my price range, but #5 is cute and under $100. Thank you, Meghan!

1. Anthropologie $100; 2. Anthropologie $148; 3. Rocket Dog $45; 4. Dolce Vita $123; 5. Butter $93; 6. Steve Madden $81; 7. Volatile $43; 8. Gap $25

from birdseed to rice (update)

March 17th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Mint reader Weylin asked if I wouldn’t mind making a simliar template to the birdseed bags, but for rice – so I’ve made one and it’s now available for download on the previous post. This one reads, “Rice is tossed at a bride and groom to wish them good luck & abundance… and we could use both! So, toss to your heart’s delight!”

[A big thanks to Vané at Brooklyn Bride for featuring this project on her site!!]

Grycja Erde’s place settings are amazing; how clever to have the placemat and plate line up to create such a beautiful image. I like this so much that I set it as my desktop so I could look at it all day long! (Click to see bigger images of the one just above and just below).

Grycja Erde is also a talented illustrator -

Oh yes, and she’s gorgeous -

illustration for weddings

In my next life I want to be an awesome illustrator, as awesome as Frank Chimero and his super cute save the date. Once I found Frank Chimero’s save the date on flickr, I was hungry for more.

yes please.

It’s shaping up to be a wedding-heavy week on Mint… but what can I say, I’ve got weddings on the brain!! These flowers (seen on frolic) are perfect. I’ve been loving flowers that are messier, wilder, looser, and not too pretty or overdone. These (mostly that one on the right) hit the mark. I think I’m ready to call my florist to finalize some details!

a little peek!

March 16th, 2009 · 17 Comments

Well, we did it. In under two weeks, we screenprinted a couple hundred invitations on our gocco. There were nine screens in all, so I estimate about 900 pieces of paper printed, some twice! It involved one midnight redesign, a few wasted screens, some wasted bulbs, hours tearing paper, a few tears, and the help of some fabulous girlfriends. But we did it, and made our deadline of Brendan’s Dad’s birthday for the mailing.

Despite the amount of time (and the tears) I would do it all over again. The gocco is fantastically fun, and the result is unique and beautiful. How satisfying to press a little machine and pull out a pretty print!

I hate to even say it, but this little photo peek will have to suffice until after the wedding! These are our envelopes, which we purchased from Neenah (Antique Gray) and goccoed front and back with a flower print and the return address.

I love them.

Now, on to the programs! (Which will not be goccoed. I’m not a total nut – although, high five if you’re doing yours! You’re a braver gal than I.)

this week’s favorite three

March 14th, 2009 · 3 Comments

I’m posting the “favorite threes” a day early this week, to clear up Sunday afternoon for non-internet things… So here goes!

This week’s favorite three are a new blog pal, Old Sweet Song, a rocking new business blog, Modish Biz Tips, and an old favorite where I’m finding loads of inspiration for setting up a new home – The Style Files.

Visit the archives to see previous favorites, and you can see banners for this week’s favorites in the right sidebar.
