pew cards

April 9th, 2009 · 15 Comments

Well I hope you all don’t mind lots of wedding-themed posts! With nearly two weeks until our wedding, it’s all I can wrap my mind around.

Yesterday (inspired by those silhouettes I posted the other day), I came up with these for our pew cards. Our wedding is on the large side, in a church, and we’re reserving some rows for our immediate families up front. To make the usher’s jobs a little easier, I thought I’d give those with reserved seats a pew card to show to the usher.

But most importantly, they were fun to make.

I think I need a little practice cutting out circles, but otherwise I love them. I drew the silhouettes by tracing over back-lit photos in Adobe Illustrator, then I printed the design on vellum and glued it to cardstock craft paper.

You can see a few more, larger images on Mint’s flickr page.

*UPDATE: You can buy an adjustable circle cutter from Making Memories. Thanks Penny!

  7. you should consider getting an actual circle-cutting tool. the day i bought mine, i cut and cut and cut, for hours! i made circles out of every piece of paper i could find. you can find one for a reasonable price at just about any craft store — totally worth it!

  8. did i mention that you can change the diameter of the circles? :-)

  15. hi nannette, we handed them out at the rehearsal dinner. no one forgot, but i told them if they did to just mention it to the usher – problem solved!
