our programs & direction cards
I completely forgot I hadn’t shown these yet on Mint! Our programs & direction cards were really fun to design, and easy to assemble since I had them printed at the same place I took our save the dates, used regular old cardstock, and had the printer cut them down to size and punch the holes. We tied the ribbons in one quick evening, and it was done!
I made four different covers, but the inside content was the same for each program. They were 6 pages long including the cover, and about 4×5″.
The direction cards used our profile illustration from the guest book and rehearsal dinner invitations (coming tomorrow!). I used a hand-held corner rounder from Michael’s, which was surprisingly fast and easy. They were handed out to guests as they left the ceremony so that they could easily find our reception.
For more photos, you can visit Mint’s flickr.

May 14, 2009 at 1:24 pmThese are so beautiful. I love that you’ve pulled off a variety of textures and colours (it’s my plan too – hopefully I can execute as well as you). It’s funny that you posted the Lucia soap right before this post – their packaging was the inspiration for my invites!
Thanks for posting these – they’re just so lovely!

May 14, 2009 at 6:17 pmoh cool! we used this one:
“Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won’t adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words “make” and “stay” become inappropriate. My love for you has no strings attached. I love you for free.”

May 26, 2009 at 6:34 pmI’m with “Alix” – did you draw the patterns, or were they a find?! LOVE them, love them.
ellie
May 26, 2009 at 6:54 pmHi Jennifer and Alix, I designed them, although two of them use found floral vectors to create a pattern.
Jennifer
May 26, 2009 at 7:55 pmThansk for the reply, Ellie. I love the floral patterns and am wishing I could find something similar (or that I could buy the patterns from you!).
If you’d rather not pass them on (which I definitely understand), I’m still curious – where do you typically go to find great vectors? iStockphoto?
ellie
May 26, 2009 at 9:14 pmYes, sorry, the digital files are not for sale. Finding good vector art is so hard, because the really good vector art is unaffordable (at least for me)! Those were files that I’ve had stored on my computer for a long time and to be honest I don’t remember where they came from. I tend to just download good, free vectors whenever I run across them (links on blogs etc.) and I also work for a graphic design firm that has many vector file resources that I can use.
