I started off our wedding day by setting up our reception site (with a bunch of help, of course). We didn’t hire a day of coordinator, but fortunately we didn’t seem to miss one. First thing in the morning, we were hanging large paper lanterns, moving rocking chairs and tables, setting up luminaries, and hanging ferns. We were so lucky to have so much help from family and friends!
Our florist was also there, hanging baby breath wreaths on the doors (a diy gift from a talented friend!) and hydrangea and greenery above the doorway.
We chose a beautiful reception location on the beach that needed very little decoration. I bought three large white paper lanterns to hang on the porches that overlooked the ocean, and we rented eight ferns to hang from the rafters.
Other than the flowers, the only other decor I wanted was luminaries from the parking lot to the building, and on the walkway from the building to the beach. This was one of the jobs I delegated to a couple dream bridesmaids. They purchased the paper bags and candles and filled them with sand from the beach outside the reception. On the day of there were what seemed like a couple hundred luminaries all set up (what would I do without my bridesmaids!).
