a mood board… for work!
We don’t usually get to create mood boards for our clients, but recently we had the opportunity to do just that, with hopes of steering our client in a whole new direction. The actual deliverables on the project will be graphic design related, but we’re trying to show the mood, the sentiment, the tastes of our client’s customers in this mood board. I was so excited to come up with this look and help our marketing director find all the photos to match. Cause, usually, that’s the kind of thing I only get to do on the weekends. For you folks.
The photos at the top & bottom are close ups, and that middle photo shows our mood-board-in-progress on our conference table. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that our client will be as excited as we are!
Photos clockwise from top to bottom:
vintage box, rustic entryway, antique jewelry boxes, my photo, box of eggs, studio, japanese box

July 23, 2009 at 12:43 pmYeah, moodboards! Are you sure you don’t want to post the marketing analysis report that I wrote up? It’s equally exciting. Sarcasm.

July 23, 2009 at 2:00 pmEllie, that’s so cool! I especially love the antique box.
You know, I’ve never made a mood board. Well, I have made photo collages on the computer that seem to have the same effect as a mood board…I just never called them mood boards, I guess ;)
Do you recommend making them physically, or is it just as effective to make one online.

July 23, 2009 at 2:02 pmHi Lisa, This is the first ‘physical’ one I’ve ever made. Usually they’re just little round-ups of things for Mint… but when we’re presenting an idea to a client it’s always nice to have something physical in hand!
