gordon leverton

August 18th, 2009 · 3 Comments

Last week Gordon Leverton emailed me with a sampling of his work, and I have to say, it’s right up my alley. The colors are perfect, and the way he handles light on the blocky buildings is beautiful. I’ve been on the look-out for some larger artwork (my small budget over the years has meant I have a big collection of really small art) and Gordon Leverton’s cheerful pastels and paintings would be a wonderful addition.

In addition to his website, you can follow Gordon on his blog.

it’s back!

August 17th, 2009 · 23 Comments

OK, not to say I told you so, but… come on. We all knew it would happen eventually. Polaroid film will be back in to production in 2010 with the help of Urban Outfitters and The Impossible Project. When Polaroid stopped manufacturing instant film in 2008, The Impossible Project bought all the equipment and machinery. This year, Urban Outfitters will release 700 limited edition sets of polaroid cameras and one pack of polaroid film. Next year, they’ll be selling film packs too.

In conjunction with the release of the special edition Polaroid film and camera kits, Gallery Space at Space 15 Twenty in Los Angeles is hosting a month-long group show of Polaroid photography.

Now, would someone please start manufacturing (affordable) gocco supplies?? : )

johnny por taing

Johnny Por Taing is a talented designer working in NYC. The two pieces that most caught my eye in his portfolio are the monogram for the Mercer holiday card (where I love the distressed, vintage-inspired flourishes against that bold lavender M) and the label for Andre Balazs Reserve Wine (where I love the typography and that striped frame).

Gorgeous!

You may know Shelley Lane from her vintage bookplates & prints shop Oiseaux. She’s also a talented collage artist, and you can see more of her work in her other shop Oiseaux Noir and on her flickr.

Thanks Shelley!

Well, OK. “New” is relative. But in the past few weeks, I’ve added these fun “thanks” cards to Hello Tenfold.

wedding programs

I’ve also added a DIY version of my wedding programs, for those of you who need the extra cash for all those other wedding expenses!

phew!

August 13th, 2009 · 8 Comments

Yesterday, in the midst of filling a couple Hello Tenfold orders, finishing some wedding invitation designs, wading through work projects, and taking my dog to an emergency vet visit, it occurred to me that I might need a day (or two) off. So, I’m going to catch up a bit, and I’ll be back on Monday.

(I took the photo last weekend, while we were peeling shrimp for dinner on a dock. Yay for summer!)

Have a great weekend!
