summertime recipes
My family was in town this weekend, and high on the priority list was making a trip to Locopops, our local Mexican Paletas shop. Since not everyone has a Locopops (and therefore I feel really, really bad for you) I thought I’d round up some recipes online so you can share in my summertime bliss.
Use these recipes as a guide, but to get your creative juices flowing (ha), here are the Locopops flavors this week:
Water based pops: Orange Mango, Cantalope Mango, Cherry Berry, Strawberry Lime, Strawberry Sage, Grapefruit Basil, Jalapeno Lemonade, Hibiscus Peach, and Apple Grape
Cream based pops: Peaches & Cream, Lemon Penang Basil, Pistachio Halva, Pear Almond, Strawberry Oreo, Chocolate Raspberry, Sweet Corn, and Guava Lemongrass
Some recipes to get you started:
• Cantelope and cucumber paletas from yumsugar
• Banana paletas from the NY Times
• Many paleta recipes from Diana’s Desserts, including sour orange, mango, and blueberry
• Cucumber-chile paletas from the LA Times
YUM!
