I mentioned that Brendan and I are busy getting ready for our first handmade market this weekend, and here’s a peek of our booth! We found a few “props” at thrift stores, but mostly we’re using things we already owned. It seems to be coming together! Today will be full of folding note cards and tying bows on card sets. We’re excited and we hope to see you there!

Have a great weekend!

Does anyone else have the problem of never enough tea towels? We prefer them to paper towels and use ours pretty heavily, and the end result is that we never have enough clean ones. Studiopatró has some beautiful options and I’m in love with the color palette. They’d make Brendan happy (more towels) and me happy (pretty towels).

Thanks for sending these my way, Studiopatró!

Yesterday I guest blogged for Kirsten over at Simply Grove! I shared some of my favorite fall decor items (basically, ways I’d love to cozy up the house for colder weather) and if you missed it you can see it right here.

Above, chair by Let’s Rebuild (who will be at the Rock & Shop this weekend, local folks!) and vases by Mudpuppy.

A little different from the stuff I usually show on Mint, but I’m feeling it. Paintings by Alastair MacKinven.

getting ready for our first handmade market

Since Brendan designed the Durham Rock & Shop poster last week (super last minute), we were offered an also super last minute free booth at the market. Did I mention it’s this Saturday? At first we turned it down, but the more we thought about it, the more we thought “why not?” We’re both deadline-driven people, so we thought it would be a chance to finish some projects, get some market experience under our belts, and experiment with booth displays. Our goal is to have a good-looking, stocked table at the Raleigh Rock & Shop market in December, so this seemed like the perfect test run.

Needless to say, we’ve been busy since making that decision on Sunday! Brendan finished a few new note card designs, I started prepping for a gocco project I’ve been meaning to finish, and combed through my photos to see if there was anything worth bringing to the market. I was surprised to find a bunch of things, like that top photo which was a polaroid I took in the Fall of ’07. The bottom photo is one I took in our yard last week when I was trying to do something creative that didn’t involve my computer. Hopefully by the time the December market rolls around I’ll have more Hello Tenfold stuff that’s not just for weddings, but this works for now. (OK, that’s not what I meant… I mean, I’m excited to have some photos for our booth in the meantime!)

Now that we’ve got a small selection of work, we’re trying to come up with booth display ideas. I’ve read this post a couple times, and today we’re headed out to some thrift stores to see what we can find. Wish us luck!

There are lots of things that caught my eye about Claire & John’s wedding. First of all, it was in Asheville, NC (close to home). Also, the laid-back, small & outdoorsy feel reminded me of my friends’ Andy & Farrah’s wedding.

And then there’s the fact that the bride, Claire Mojher, is an illustrator who works with American Greetings, and she and her artist husband John DeLucca made their own wedding bands, invitations, save the dates, and Claire’s (short, yellow) wedding dress for starters… so creative!
