yesterday’s photo shoot
Yesterday the Rock & Shop ladies invited Brendan and me to attend a photo shoot at Golden Belt in Durham. The shoot was a promo for photographers Aaron Nace and Rosie Hardy for the Rock & Shop Vintage Market (which happens on the 17th). There will be a fashion show at the market, so the shoot yesterday was to photograph some of the clothes & jewelry that will be featured in the show. These are photos by Brendan and a couple by our friend Kevin.
We had no idea what we’d be doing, or what to expect, but we thought it would be fun to watch a professional photo shoot—our first! They were short on models so I ended up modeling some of the beautiful clothes and jewelry. I felt completely out of my element next to real models, and I was so stiff! But, I loved watching the photographers come up with all kinds of creative ideas for staging. I also have a whole new appreciation for models; that stuff ain’t easy.
The organizers of the shoot didn’t have hair and makeup people lined up, so at the last minute someone called the Paul Mitchell school. In no time we had hair and makeup people in full force. As in, 20+ of them for about 6 models. Crazy! They went big and curly for me, and I wore a beautiful dress by Revamp and a great necklace by Good Girl Studio. Can’t wait to see Aaron & Rosie’s photographs!
