face food recipes
Christopher D Salyers is an author and designer who has a long-held fascination for molded food, starting from the time he received his first chocolate Easter bunny. He later discovered charaben, which is an elaborate bento box in which the food resembles characters or scenes.
His first book, Face Food, showed a collection of charaben made mostly by mothers for their children, and his second book, Face Food Recipes, expands upon the first book with how-to guides for 35 charaben.
Wouldn’t you have eaten your vegetables if your mom had made them in the shape of Cinderella? Well, maybe not, but it does bring new meaning to playing with your food, right?
Thanks to Christopher for sending me a copy! You can see more charaben on the Face Food blog.
