Work by Israeli designer Reut Ashkenazy. I love the inclusion of fabric in the above book (which was based on the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi) and the delicate drawings in the packaging below.

thailand ’07

1

I think I mentioned that Brendan and I did some traveling a few years ago…

2

These are some photos I took in Thailand. Some mornings looking at these photos is the perfect getaway! Even though it’s been nearly three years since we left for our big trip, we haven’t edited the majority of our photos, much less made an album. A project for 2010, maybe.

If you could plan a big trip, where would you go?

thank you

December 11th, 2009 · 5 Comments

In a couple weeks 2009 will be coming to a close, and I want to thank each of my holiday sponsors. Of course, there were many other sponsors throughout 2009 who aren’t listed here, and I’m grateful to those artists, small businesses, and designers as well. Running Mint is time consuming and couldn’t be done without their support. If you’re looking for some last minute Christmas gifts, I think you should check these good people out:

unc student art sale

December 11th, 2009 · No Comments

unc

Today I’m headed to Chapel Hill to see the 2nd annual UNC Student Art Sale. This year, it’s held in the new student gallery, The Artery, at 137 E. Rosemary St. I couldn’t make it last year, but Brendan did and picked up a couple great Christmas gifts (one of which is proudly framed in our dining room). The student sale is one-day only, from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and features etchings, screenprints, photographs, drawings, paintings, digital works and ceramics by dozens of UNC art students. You can read more about it in this article by the Chapel Hill News. Hope to see you there!

You have to go check out this architects brochure over at FPO designed by COÖP. Beautiful. Mainly I like the metallic on ivory in that pretty pattern! And the rubber band binding… So I hopped over to the COÖP site and found lots of good stuff:
