Luckily (thankfully!) I’ve been super busy with work this past month. It’s wedding season of course, and here are a couple patterns I recently used for envelope liners. Aren’t they fun?

pattern & shape

Have you seen these new Ts? They’re a project from one of my favorite blogs, The Strange Attractor. Seven TSA contributors collaborated to create a line of t-shirts—each focused on one geometric shape and pattern. They’re printed on American Apparel shirts, so you know they’re going to fit well, too.

Romina sent me her beautiful work yesterday, and I had a hard time picking just a couple images to share here (check out her portfolio, blog and etsy shop Miles of Light for more!). She is a graphic designer as well as a photographer, and has worked in the fashion industry, as an illustrator, and a jewelry maker.

this week’s recipe: frittata with leeks and goat cheese

March 30th, 2010 · 10 Comments

One thing we always have in the fridge at our house is a carton of eggs. It’s so easy to whip up breakfast (over easy on top of toast) or lunch (omelette with tomato and onions) and we’ve been known to eat some variation of that for dinner, too. One thing we don’t do with eggs is make frittatas, which I always thought was just a fancy word for omelette. According to Rachel of Rachel Eats, frittatas are actually “Italian Omelettes”—firmer and not folded over. Rachel’s real inspiration for this recipe was figuring out a week’s worth of meals that include leeks. You can find more of her leek ideas in her delicous frittata recipe post.

P.S. Another egg idea is this Baked Eggs recipe from 101 Cookbooks.

currently reading: the seamstress, by frances de pontes peebles

March 29th, 2010 · 2 Comments

Description from Harper Collins:

As seamstresses, the young sisters Emília and Luzia dos Santos know how to cut, mend, and conceal—useful skills in the lawless backcountry of Brazil, where ruthless land barons feud with bands of outlaw cangaceiros, trapping innocent residents in the crossfire. Emília, a naive romantic, dreams of falling in love with a gentleman and escaping to a big city. Quick-tempered Luzia also longs for escape, finding it in her craft and secret prayers to the saints she believes once saved her life. But when Luzia is abducted by cangaceiros led by the infamous Hawk and Emília stumbles into a marriage with the son of a wealthy and politically powerful doctor, the sisters’ quiet lives diverge in ways they never would have imagined.
