jag nagra’s alice in wonderland invitations

May 31st, 2010 · 9 Comments

Remember those Alice in Wonderland themed invitations from last month? Designer Jag Nagra recently finished the other invitations from the 3-piece set. She explained about the paper goods:

I’ve sent out 3 pieces of mail leading up to the event (which will be held on Sunday, June 6).  First we had the “You are cordially invited” set that went out.  No specific event details were given at that point. A few weeks later, the 11″x 17″ “Calling Card” was mailed to each guest in a mailing tube (return address from Wonderland, of course).  On the bottom of the poster was the riddle, “Why is the Raven like a Writing Desk?” and each person was given a specific time for when they’d be phoned and asked for their answer to the riddle. Next, “Drink Me” glass bottles were hand delivered to each guests’ front door, and the specific event details were rolled up and placed inside the bottles. (see the whole set here).

I can’t wait to see photos from the event!

I didn’t quite get to cover everyone I wanted to this week, so I think we’ll wrap up the NSS coverage on Monday instead of today. Here are some photos from the wonderful Sycamore Street Press booth (photo above via their shop).

I’m sure many of you have already started your holiday weekend if you’re in the US! Hope it’s wonderful!

NSS recap: Studio Olivine

I loved the setup of Studio Olivine’s booth. Spacious, not over-crowded with work, soft colors and greenery—a bit of calm in the enormous Javits Center! Studio Olivine’s work is letterpressed with soy based inks and handmade paper (some of which is made right in the studio). You can find more on their website, shop, and blog.

I’ve seen the OrangeArt Brookfield line in a couple local boutiques (you can buy it here) and was happy to run across them at NSS! Such beautiful patterns.

I’ve got nothing but love for Hammerpress (who has a new website, by the way…).
