I have a fibers book called Fiberarts Design Book 7 which I flip though occasionally, and even though I’ve had it for years, something new catches my eye each time I pick it up. These are works by Martha Donovan Opdahl, an artist who works with wool (below) and organdy on plexi glass (above) out of her Santa Fe studio.

  4. Hi Ellie
Thanks for calling attention to my work via Mint. What a pleasant surprise! A couple of years ago I decided to get more web presence but didn’t want an “official” web site. So I began a blog (www.marthaopdahl.wordpress.com) with the intention of posting entries regularly. I didn’t realize how much time it takes to gather my thoughts and write them down. I let my postings lapse, but I intend to continue. Right now am trying to figure out how to embed the RSS feed into my site…Also need to photograph new work and get it on Flickr, a link via my blog to images of my work. The biz side of being an artist is not my strong suit! You’re in Durham! Hodges Taylor Gallery represents me in Charlotte. They’ve placed several pieces for me in prominent venues there. Thanks again for the exposure!

  5. Hi Martha, thanks for stopping by! I’ll keep an eye out for your work in Durham, and certainly look for it next time I’m in Charlotte!
