Neil & Winna, part 1

September 30th, 2010 · 7 Comments

Neil and Winna’s Indian wedding was held in Washington, DC at The Field School, where Neil works. It was held in the high school gym, although you’d never guess that from how beautifully they transformed the space. Winna is a graphic designer, so she designed all the paper goods and coordinated the beautiful details herself. (Above, guests decorating Neil and Winna’s skin with mehndi, and below, Winna getting ready on the big day).

Coming up next, Neil and Winna’s reception!

I picked up Vera: The Art and Life of an Icon the other day, and can’t even tell you how great it is. It’s so great that when it arrived in my mailbox, I flipped only halfway through it and literally had to put it down because I knew if I saw anymore I was going to have to drop everything and spend hours pouring over every page. You know how people always say, “if you could meet one person…”? That kind of question really annoys me, but this week I’ve been thinking maybe I’d meet Vera Neumann. And maybe she’d rub off on me just a little.
