this week’s recipe: hot chocolate

January 11th, 2011 · 11 Comments

We’ve had another big snow down here in the South. It will all be melted soon, but I like to relish it while I can. With hot chocolate and a good book, preferably. Some recipes I’ve got to try:

+ Belgian Hot Chocolate
+ Mexican Hot Chocolate
+ Perfect Hot Chocolate
+ Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate
+ Lavender Hot Chocolate (above, photo by Une-Deux Senses)

  2. will definitely try the lavender hot chocolate

  3. each of these recipes sound amazing. home made hot chocolate is the best. i’m pretty sure i’ve used a recipe that only called for cream, semi sweet chocolate and a little milk- it was heavenly.

  4. I love the lavender hot chocolate one however will wait till winter comes…too hot in West Australia for hot drinks.

  5. Mmm! I’ve been doing a lot of hazelnut hot chocolate, but I think I’m definitely going to have to give the peanut butter one a try. Thanks for sharing!

  6. oh yummi!! i mus try this!!!!!!

  7. off to check out those recipes :)

  8. Ooooh!! That photo looks delicious. Now I’m all hungry for hot chocolate… Even though it’s a stinking-hot summer’s day in Australia, you’d never know it as the boys in the office have the air-conditioning set on freezing. I am literally wearing a blanket around my shoulders. Appropriate hot-choc temperature.
    Thanks for the recipe tips!

  9. oh crap! how is it that i’m 27 years old and i’ve NEVER had home made hot chocolate?? You have opened my eyes to a whole new fancy yummy drink-wonderland!! i can’t wait to try them all!

  10. I tried the Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate – it was a very rich, and would have preferred a little more sweetness… I blogged about it on my site! I think I’ll try the Perfect Hot Chocolate next! Thanks for the suggestions :)

  11. I am going to have to try all these recipes!
