in the studio: mary beth & dan’s save the dates

I had so much fun working on Mary Beth and Dan’s screen printed save the dates, and can’t wait to see what happens with their invitations! Mary Beth and Dan met in high school, and now after 14 years of knowing each other, they’re planning a summer wedding.

Their home town, Akron, is the “rubber capital of the world” so we tried to infuse a bit of an industrial look with the Akron font. The save the date is structured like a fold-in, so that when it’s first pulled out of the envelope you get the brief details of the save the date, and when it’s unfolded you get Mary Beth and Dan’s story.

You can see this invitation and more of my work at Hello Tenfold!

I absolutely love your idea for folding the card to hide some of the information – genius! And while I’m handing out compliments… that color combination is just so fresh and inviting.

I love the way you folded them to create a short and long version of the story. It adds a very unique touch – to your already unique and gorgeous design!

this is so sweet!

i was wondering if you could do a post on how you kept your collection of business cards.
i was hoping to get an album and use baseball card holders to hold my business cards in the album.
what about you?

Ahhhhh I’m from Akron, too! These are fabulous and it’s even more fun to see our hometown blasted on the interwebs!

Hello,
I’m IN LOVE with these.
I would love to know some of the typefaces you used
If your willing to give up your secrets to a fellow designer.

Wow! I know you had an awesome time designing these- they look amazing!! So, how many fonts combinations did you try until settling on the final selection? That’s the kind of thing that keeps me awake at night!

I love the colors- they are a really great combo. I think the changes in font and font size make it even more visually stunning and interesting to read! How is that that a font change makes the message more interesting? I LOVE it :) <3
