this week’s recipe: cold soups

May 31st, 2011 · 7 Comments

Normally I’m not a huge cold soup fan, but the other day my friend whipped up the most delicious cold soup in a blender… leftover roasted squash, vegetable broth, and some herbs. And since temperatures in NC are going to reach the upper 90s this week, something cold for dinner sounds very appealing. Here are a few cold soup recipes from favorite food bloggers.

in the studio: orchid stripe day of stationery

May 26th, 2011 · 4 Comments

Remember Meredith’s invitations? We carried the same theme through to her day of stationery, which included programs, menus, escort cards, and table numbers. I loved how it turned out!

project home sweet home: progress

May 25th, 2011 · 7 Comments

Well, these might be the ugliest pictures Mint has ever seen, but they’re awfully beautiful to me. There’s a lot going on at our house this week… a new roof, about 1,000 square feet of concrete being removed from our backyard (at the last minute we wisely decided against jackhammering it ourselves, thank goodness), an old carport is nearly gone, and… by the end of the day there will be two new skylights.

Ahhh progress. And light.

this week’s recipe: fresh mint & pea pasta alla carbonara

May 24th, 2011 · 10 Comments

We’ve been eating a lot of pasta in our house. Along with a small salad and a simple homemade sauce, it’s the perfect quick-and-easy meal these days. Honest Fare’s Fresh Mint & Pea Pasta alla Carbonara looks like the ultimate spring-time dish, so I’ll be bringing this recipe with me to the grocery store next week!

in the studio: Amy & TQ’s wedding

May 20th, 2011 · 13 Comments

Amy and TQ met in college and proceeded to chase each other around the globe for the next 8 years. Their jobs required lots of travel, so they had dates in airport bars and traveled to exotic locations whenever possible. Naturally, when the time came, TQ proposed to Amy in an airport. They set a date for a destination wedding (Bali!) and began planning.

When Amy approached me about stationery design, she was full of great ideas and I was thrilled to help. Since she was planning her wedding form Singapore, I provided the design and files and Amy managed all the printing and assembly. The wording on all the pieces and the travel theme ideas were Amy and TQ’s.

Coincidentally, I stumbled on this NY Times article about TQ and Amy’s beautiful Singapore home just after we started working together!

All the beautiful photos are by Erin Hearts Court, and the wedding was featured on Martha Stewart Weddings on Tuesday!!!
