Make It Your Own

With summer finally here, it’s only appropriate that we feature a great outdoor room to make your own. The plus side of outdoor rooms is that they really work in any size space – whether a small deck or a large patio. The key is to pick a color palette that you really love and that compliments the space it will be in. An English country garden probably wouldn’t work with a space as bold as this one from Real Living, but the same feel can be achieved with more neutrals and subdued colors.

Pick a focal piece, then decorate around it. Have fun with lighting, cushions, and pottery. To help keep things affordable, trying making as many pieces as you can. In fact, the ottomans below are a super fun and easy DIY! Buy outdoor fabrics that can resist the sun and can be washed, and don’t be afraid to mix and match colors and patterns.
