take five

Today is one of those days where I just feel overwhelmed… how do people do all the things they do? Keep up with things at work, and keep the house clean, remember to get their car inspected (ahem), and keep up with personal finances (not to mention business finances), while making sure they have clean laundry and don’t run out of toothpaste, and keep up with work? Really, how? While I ponder all that, I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend at home. Well, maybe not too quiet… along with a friend, we’re going to start building a fence and deck for our backyard. I think putting my feet up on a deck while sipping a cocktail is exactly what I need right now (even though we’re thinking the project will take about a month, so in the meantime I’ll have to find somewhere else to do that).

But above are images from some pretty links for your weekend, and below are some fun things to do, if you’re a “Durhamite” like me.

God, I feel you. I was just wondering the same thing myself. I’ve decided we should have a 8 day week, with three day weekends. One weekend day for getting things done around the house, one for personal projects, and one day to do nothing but relax.

*sigh* I have the exact same question as you! And, although I have thousands of ideas and inspirations and to do lists all set up, when I sit in front of my mac I lose track of time and simply do none of the above…
Anyway, enjoy your weekend and the fence making! xoxo

I definitely relate with the how do people do it all?!
I’m happy it’s the weekend.

P.S. I love Jessica Bell’s work!

Oh Ellie, I wonder the same thing all the time. I’m on a constant quest to get everything “in order” so life can happen more easily and being spontaneous doesn’t cause a domino effect on the rest of the week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

It’s definitely something I wonder as well. I just try my best to check one thing off the list at a time and enjoy the small things in between. That way I feel my day has been more worth while, regardless if the entire to-do list is complete at the end of it! Thank you for including my honey glazed vegetable recipe in this week’s link round up :)
