We’ve been busy at home! Yesterday we finished a project we’ve been working on for a few months… a fence and a deck! When we bought our house almost two years ago (time flies!), our backyard was almost completely paved over and we had a brown 1970s carport at the end of our driveway. Removing the 8″ thick concrete was an ongoing project, and someone down the street took our carport for his own driveway. Although putting a fence in the backyard was a priority when we moved in, it got pushed aside for a while (you know, new roof, new skylights, lots of painting, and too many other distracting projects to list). We finally built the fence early this summer with the help of friends and finished the deck just yesterday. I can’t wait to put it to good use. Next year: doing something about the dirt field surrounding the deck! Hey, at least it’s not concrete. Home ownership is one never-ending project…
