When my husband married me and we settled in North Carolina, he promised we could go back to visit my home state of California once a year. Our annual pilgrimage is coming up in a few weeks, and we’re planning on leaving our 17-month old with his Grandma for our first parents night off (wahoo!). Being the woodsy fellow that he is, my husband doesn’t quite adore the City of Angels, so we’re planning on heading up the coast a bit for our mini-vacation. We both love the central coast, with its embarrassment of natural beauty, amazing wine and casual atmosphere. In my search for the perfect hotel, I found this gem smack in the middle of Paso Robles. Say hello to the Inn Paradiso.
The Inn is utterly Californian. Modern meets rustic. Casual but luxurious. The rooms are named for artists and architects (would you prefer the Octavio Paz Suite or the Antoni Gaudi Loft?) and offer organic locally roasted coffee and John Robshaw linens.
Sunsets that will blow your mind are also on offer. Check in for around $300.
Any recommendations in the Paso/Cambria/San Luis Obispo vicinity? I can hardly wait to set my eyes on the Pacific’s blue water.
