Last year, Brendan and I took a really great vacation in the mountains of North Carolina just a few hours away from home. In the inexpensive cabin we rented, there was no internet, no cell service, and no neighbors within sight, so we were able to completely unplug for a few days. We hiked, we cooked, played board games, and sat bundled up by an outdoor fire enjoying the fall weather. The town was tiny (great for antiquing!), but otherwise there wasn’t a whole lot to do — perfect! It was truly one of our best vacations.
This Laurel Canyon guest house has the same kind of vibe to me. Of course, plane tickets to Laurel Canyon would just about blow our “cheap getaway” plan, but if we ever do find ourselves in Laurel Canyon I hope I’ll be checking in. Starting at $100/night.
