There’s something about the cooler weather that makes me want to hunker down and clean house. I’m much more apt to overhaul in the fall than in the spring, and this year is no exception. At home, I’ve begun picking out a lighter, more neutral shade to replace the bold yellow in our dark and tiny kitchen. I finally painted our home office in clean, beautiful shades of white (we won’t miss you, baby blue walls and beige trim). I dug through the enormous piles of junk in that room to begin carving out an actual work space, with room for my sewing machine and paints, too. I stayed up late making floor plans and impulse furniture purchases from Ikea.com. Then the daunting task of assembling all that furniture made me set my sights on the blog instead. Instead of designing something, I went off to Etsy and purchased this theme you see from Bloom Blog Shop. I tried to install it, failed miserably, and paid her an extra $30 to make it look right. Ahhh. Much better. Clean and bright and easy. Back I go to the Ikea furniture. If only I could pay someone $30 to make that look right, too.
