GIVEAWAY: kin ship press

November 7th, 2011 · 126 Comments

One of Mint’s newest sponsors is Kin Ship Press, and today they’re here to give away a couple of supersweet things from their shop — a screen printed Counting Sheep pillowcase and Box Elder sweatshirt.

But first, a little bit about Kin Ship Press! Hillary Harrison and Dan Davis live and work in Louisville, Kentucky, where they are inspired by the countryside, folk art, and music (for starters). They screen print, illustrate, photograph, design, and make good things available in their shop. And they’ve been interviewed on OK Great (where I snagged this cute photo of the two of them).

Here’s how you can win (enter up to 3 times!):
1. Comment on this post letting us know you’d like to win.
2. Tweet about this giveaway and leave an additional comment with a link to your tweet.
3. “Like” Mint and Kin Ship Press on facebook and leave an additional comment letting us know you did so (or already do).

The giveaway will end at midnight on Sunday, November 13th at midnight EST. Good luck!

friday open studio & the giveaway winners!

October 17th, 2011 · 4 Comments

This Friday my new Hello Tenfold studio will be open to the public for the first time! While I’m mostly there during the week, the studio doesn’t get a ton of foot traffic so we don’t have regular hours. But once a month Durham has open galleries and studios for Third Friday, and this will be our first! If you’re local, we hope you’ll stop by. Brendan and I will be there (807 E Main St, Studio 3-130) with wine and snacks (while they last) from 6pm – 9pm.

To get ready, we spent much of last weekend thrifting for studio furniture, hanging up artwork, and putting the finishing touches on some display shelves. This week we’ll install the shelves, purchase some plants and flowers to warm up the space, and make a notebook showcasing the existing invitation collection. New photos of my space coming soon!

And now for the randomly chosen giveaway winners… drumroll…

Congratulations to Monique Lopez who wins Julia Rothman’s book Farm Anatomy. ALSO, congratulations to 1st place winner Stephanie who wins a PUBLIC bike crate, bell and light, and to 2nd place winner Jenny, who wins a crate and a bell. Thanks to all who entered, and to Storey & PUBLIC for last week’s giveaways!
